Following on from the very successful annual 'Back To The Sixties' shows since 2008, we now stage another 'fab' afternoon as we said back in the day! Enjoy the amazing sounds from TOAST   - back by overwhelming demand. One of the most popular groups in the South, featuring Beau with a great line-up of musicians who got together after many decades of playing with a variety of other top outfits across many years. Beau well known from his time with Rick Brown and Brownhills Stamp Duty who recorded at Abbey Road studios in the late 60s. His amazing falsetto voice still going strong on the classic hits of the Four Seasons, Beach Boys and even Rubettes! Their set-list for this 'sunny' afternoon will naturally be pure Sixties hits of course....guaranteed floor-fillers as usual.  Mods, Rockers, Hippies all welcome - especially dressed for the occasion.

(David writes) "This will be a poignant show as we mourn the loss of Toast drummer Derek Edmond who sadly passed away in January 2026.  I knew him from 1966 when joining the Earth Angels as lead vocal/harmonica player with great setlists covering 'Mod' anthems, r&b etc. Terrific musician and nice guy who carried on playing with different local groups before moving up to Milton Keynes. He also gave lessons to up and coming drummers as well as gigging with local groups etc.  He came back to his Southampton roots, ending up by joining Toast featuring Beau in recent years as this versatile outfit gained a massive following. It was great to have them back in action at the Concorde Club on our annual 60s shows so we will now be paying tribute to Derek on the show- as well as dedicating the afternoon to him alongside remembering other pals who are no longer with us.  This background info is taken from the Toast website as above."  This is another hook-up for Beau and me - we both started out in 1964 with the Abdo-Men alongside Dave Sothcott (lead) Glen Lee (drums) and Geoff Baker (bass)  Beau was on  rhythm guitar at that time but soon switched over to bass with his later groups.

I will be singing many great Sixties hits to get you joining in and dancing away - whatever takes your fancy!  Interspersed with comedy with plenty of local gags plus jogging the memories of the local dance halls that many will remember- if of a certain age. Taking you back to the days of the Royal Pier, Banister Ballroom, Guildhall, Top Rank Suite, Empire Hall Totton, Imperial Ballroom Eastleigh, Marlands Hall and many more. You can twist, shake, stomp, twitch or just do the hand jive if you are taking a breather when sitting back down.

I also handle a few requests so let me know any of your favourite singers, groups or songs on the day - I cannot guarantee having all on board. Your first record ever bought? When you played your vinyl 45s and LPs on the old Dansette record player or just listened to Radio Luxembourg on the transistor radio underneath the bedclothes?  Bring back memories of hearing the jukebox in the Checkpoint Cafe by the Bargate or at the Kasbah Coffee Bar on London Road.  Feel free to share your own memories on the day on the mike.

Better still - come dressed in your own Sixties gear with prizes for best outfits. Kaftans with beads, bells and flowers in your hair (if any left!) Maybe Afghan coats smelling of Patchouli Oil waving joss-sticks?  Plus if you were a Mod - a Rocker or a Mocker?  No punch-ups in the car park please!  Scooters and motorbikes welcome. Please note the new controlled parking regulations below.

BE THERE- OR BE SQUARE!
